"Les étoiles, the stars, Die sterne "with Simon Keenlyside and Schubert five years ago.

That recital at Garnier on February the 12th 2010 seems a parenthesis in paradise!

I had a date with Hamlet, the one I could watch endlessly having crucial departing with Ophélie-Nat Dessay. What a couple in this opera!
Here's my account of the evening.
My photos show how near  to the stage I was, so pleased to actually see them close!
It was a great night !
Because Simon Keenlyside is missed so much these days, I had to go back to the only time I managed to actually see him.
 Because also I will not see him at the BSO in March where he was scheduled  in Un Ballo in maschera,
Because he is still fighting against this  bad spell of ill-health,
 All I could do was to recall the sweet memory of that night at Garnier...He chose to give five Schubert 'encore', the 3rd one was Die Sterne, and he felt the neeed to talk to us in French!
Tonight I was looking for this recital on Youtube and I found the precise moment when he spoke to us in French:

"Je voudrais chanter quelque chose encore en français mais le goût avec l'allemand et français ensemble, ça sera pas tellement bien...euh...parceque la deuxième partie était plus courte on continue avec l'allemand ! then he turns to Malcom and asks: c'est quoi? and Malcom answered 'Die Sterne' '

2016 : laïcité, diversité, solidarité !

Paris, Sousse, Beyrouth, Bagdad, … l’année aura compté son lot de tragédies. Roland Biache, Délégué général de Solidarité Laïque, nous invite à tourner les yeux vers l’avenir et vous adresse ses meilleurs vœux pour que 2016 soit une année de liberté, d’égalité et de fraternité.

Comment formuler des vœux après une année comme 2015 ? Comment faire renaître l’espoir et la fraternité ? A nos donateurs, à nos partenaires, à tous nos sympathisants, nous voulons dire que nous continuerons, en 2016 et au-delà, à œuvrer pour la paix, la solidarité, la justice sociale et la démocratie. Pour notre collectif, la laïcité est la réponse au repli identitaire que nous vivons aujourd’hui. Les différences sont une richesse pour construire un projet commun au service de l’intérêt général. C’est en prenant le temps de tisser des liens que nous construirons un monde plus juste. Avec l’éducation, qui permet d’avancer sur le chemin qui rend libre et citoyen, la laïcité est la clé d’un développement humain pour toutes et tous.
