My life on line: keeping alive with artists ... The show must go on .? L'Orchestre de Paris

And the Show here is not on yet...

Still we can hope it will go on .... So much social turmoil around,  with the ever lasting covid and its mutations, it is better to think twice ... "it's alright." ?In May they were all playing for us !

The Orchestre de Paris is sharing almost all its concerts on line, it is delightful and soothing in this empty cultural space like a huge hole in an old wall... with stones crumbling to dust just like life crumbling to ashes too easily around the world.

(The link to this wonderful concert on line is in blue, above)

Mainly all the concerts are on line on the orchestra site.  It is a tremendous open musical  space to wander about with documentaries concerts and insights with all the musicians and their instruments.

My life on line: because time is rather dull and boring as it is, I am following... Minue-Icon -Rose !

Is it reasonable to be a "follower"?
 Is ordinary life bearable? Is cultural blackout understandable? Is silence enjoyable?
Life is not what it used to be, and I'm wondering how the young ones will remember these days, weeks, months and year ... I will not be around to appreciate their memories of the time being through paintings, books, music, songs and protests or protest-songs may be? Is it reasonable to be a follower like a teen-ager? What is reasonable these days around here? Meanwhile, Minue-Icon-Rose is having fun on his vlog with what is called" Mukbang" : sharing his foodies on line ! I had a great time trying to guess what he was having. His kind of instant mayonnaise- churning, according to the jazz -rhythm he was listening to was also great fun! The " green "part of it was most enjoyable:

Minue-Icon-Rose, No Min Woo actor and musician is talented and funny !

My life on line: Jonas Kaufman 's cry from the heart...yesterday in Madrid :"Audience we need you"

Artists we need you too... in live performances ... anywhere, circus, theaters, open spaces even ... but we do have to go back to human gathering with all precautions taken.... Madrid seems to understand Cultural needs better than France... what will be my first 'outing' to  a live performance? when? where? in Aix when the 6pm curfew will end.... I will not translate because I trust the on line translation to be not too bad these days ...

My concern: S.O.S Méditerranée back to action today !

Ocean Viking today in Marseille ready to sail again!
 I would have liked to go and see it !It is a relief to read better news from this association  which cares so much about survival of the poorest  on our Southern coasts. This is reality, crual one, but keeps me alive and sharing. All the best to the new crew on board !

The article which was on my mail earlier this morning:

The Ocean Viking is headed for the central Mediterranean after half a year of imposed blockade

This morning, the rescue ship Ocean Viking of European search and rescue association SOS MEDITERRANEE is leaving Marseille, France, headed for the central Mediterranean for the first time in six months. This first mission of the year comes after five months of costly efforts to release the ship from an administrative detention imposed by the Italian authorities on July 22 on the basis of new interpretations of ship safety requirements. In 2020, the lack of rescue capacity became ever more apparent. It was a devastating year in the central Mediterranean with more than 700 reported deaths and a high probability that more deaths went undocumented. SOS MEDITERRANEE is relieved to resume lifesaving operations this month, while reiterating the crucial need for a return to efficient and lawful State-led rescue coordination.

“While we are on our way back to the central Mediterranean for the first time in months, we all have in mind what a dreadful year 2020 has been for people caught in circles of abuse in Libya and those attempting to flee by sea. With the COVID-19 pandemic came a renewed “closure” of ports while people continued having to risk their lives at sea to reach safety. Merchant ships carrying out their duty to rescue were stranded at sea for weeks while responsible authorities refused to provide a solution to disembark rescued people. In June, the Ocean Viking, left without instructions for days, had to declare a state of emergency on board the ship when the uncertainty and the lack of perspective pushed survivors past their breaking point. Repeated lengthy delays from maritime authorities in rescuing people in acute distress as well as organised pushbacks of survivors to Libya occurred in breach of international law. Over 11,000 people were forcibly returned to Libya and its detention centres. Six NGO ships have been blocked in a systematic manner leaving a deadly black hole in the central Mediterranean. At least 779 women, men and children died or went missing – counting only the shipwrecks we know of – with barely any witnesses. This is disgraceful and needs to come to an end”, says Sophie Beau, co-founder and vice-president of SOS MEDITERRANEE. “The Ocean Viking is setting sail with a team prepared for the worst, having to face life and death situations in the middle of the open sea. Unnecessary rescue delays and prolonged standoffs at sea put human lives at risk. A return to respect for maritime law and genuine European solidarity with coastal states is the only way to prevent more tragedies”.

Following the release of the Ocean Viking from a 5-month detention by Italian authorities on December 21, the ship sailed from Augusta, Sicily, to Marseille, France, to restock and embark the SOS MEDITERRANEE crew after a ten-day self-isolation period. SOS MEDITERRANEE has implemented strict pre-boarding COVID-19 prevention protocols for the twenty-two medical and rescue team members, nine members of the ship’s crew and two invited reporters covering the current mission on board. All have been tested negative for COVID-19 several times. Strict prevention and mitigation protocols will be applied at all times throughout the mission at sea. In the past weeks, the rescue and medical teams have been trained and the ship equipped to continue to respond to the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the central Mediterranean in the safest sanitary conditions possible. In the coming days, on their way to the central Mediterranean, the teams will perform all the trainings and drills necessary to perform search and rescue operations in the most professional manner.

Oud music and an amazing artist : for me they express all the sorrows, from Palestine to these dreadful exiles across tormented seas around us. Is there an end to it? when? and How?

My life on line : still the same in 20 21 - I- Concert on line from Rome - Opera Bastille, the Ring with Philippe Jordan on his leave - Links to France Musique for the Ring.

 That invitation "Opera Omnia Art and Treasures" came through my mail because in recent past I booked evenings in various places in Italy and was always very pleased with either concerts, museum tours, glass of wine and friendly receptions.  I was in Rome at Easter 19 and we were  booked for an evening at Leonardo Da Vinci Museum. Though with this strange Covid year I was not expecting a concert on line at Santa Maria dell'Orto  i n Trastevera. That was a nice New year surprise by the time I linked to it!

It is a baroque music concert with two musicians and a dynamic soprano.  This concert is a pleasant musical  time to share in this adorned place which can only be found in Rome not far from Santa Cecilia which I adore and know better than this church.

  • Then there is the link from Opera Bastille which is also very interesting and I would like to keep it here but that is not sure. For the moment being it is also a very instructive musical documentary with musicians singers and of course Conductor Ph. Jordan who is giving his appreciations of Wagner 's music while coaching both orchestra and singers.
  • This is Ph. Jordan last achievement at Opera Bastille.

Best wishes on line...2021 .

 I am old-fashioned. How could it be different?

 All I want for New Year  21 is : Life back to normal everywhere if possible... So first let us hug each other and swarm  outdoors when we feel like it, on squares, at the market, at cafés, at church, temple, mosque, synagog,  at festivals and theaters...and go to the Sea again....

If I want to remember  warm and cheerful moments,  I have to blink and go back to happy memories of packed audience roaring with pleasure at  Yifu Theater or the dreadful suspense at the Chorégies in Orange when all of the sudden during the 1st  performance  of Boïto Mefistofele, the orchestra stopped and we all held our breath because two singers were  dangerously tossed  high up  in the air (Chorégies d'orange). So let's go back to normal during these months to come... life on line has its limits. Real life is what we are made for, with real emotions, thumps and pangs, tears and laughters, whistles and cries...unmasked.

Back to happy memories of childhood in Marseille where opérettes were always on at New year period. Photos are mine, taken some years ago along our "côte bleue' ... happy memories and lovely tunes with  old-fashioned French voices but so charming too !

Paroles de la chanson Je Vous Emmènerai Sur Mon Joli Bateau par Luc Barney

{Lui:}
Si vous le voulez, demain
Nous partons de bon matin

{Elle:}
Être seule avec vous
Mon cœur bat très fort

{Lui:}
Donnons-nous rendez-vous
Rendez-vous au port

Je vous emmènerai sur mon joli bateau
Voguer au fil de l'eau
Il n'est rien de plus beau
Que d'être à deux rêvant
Contre la voile blanche
Qui frémit et se penche
Au gré du vent

{Elle:}
La barque frêle
Ouvre son aile
Vire et chancelle
Puis va glissant comme l'oiseau

{Ensemble, x2}
Voguer au fil de l'eau
Il n'est rien de plus beau
Je vous emmènerai sur mon bateau

{Elle:}
Gare à ne point dériver
Malheur est vite arrivé

{Lui:}
Pour abri
Par temps gris
Vous aurez mon cœur

{Elle:}
Votre cœur
Pour abri ?
Malgré moi, j'ai peur

{Ensemble:}
Je vous emmènerai sur mon joli bateau
Voguer au fil de l'eau
Il n'est rien de plus beau
Que d'être à deux rêvant
Contre la voile blanche
Qui frémit et se penche
Au gré du vent

{Lui:}
Venez ma belle
La barque frêle
Ouvre son aile
Et va glissant comme un oiseau

{Ensemble, x2}
Voguer au fil de l'eau
Il n'est rien de plus beau
Je vous emmènerai sur mon bateau Langue : Best wishes for the year to come...
