La Traviata, Narbonne tonight, the end of the tour.

As much as I wanted to be there with two friends of mine who followed me in Provence to listen to the young and brilliant soprano Alice Gulipian, unfortunally we will not make it tonight.
There are mutiple reasons to this decision we took some time ago, the main one being that the tickets were sold out the very first day of the reservation opening! We were on a waiting list and had very litte chance to get these tickets before the concert. Of course there will be some left tonight but Narbonne is not just round the corner.. So this is the result of getting old...I suppose! I do travel for opera but only when I have reserved tickets.
I have followed this Traviata tour on Alice's blog and facebook page and was so pleased to read her good reviews and enthusiam for this role.
There will be a dvd, and I will manage to see her soon, perhaps in recital in Marseilles...
Meanwhile, youtube can show us how daring she is in this role:

I would have liked to see her in these splendid costumes!

  1. Thank you so much Yvette for this warm post and for your affection. Some additional performances have been scheduled for March 2012 near Paris. This time I'll make sure that you get some invitations.
The DVD has been released! :o)
