Blue.

July 2012
Back home.
Seas and skyes all around are blue, definitely blue and Mistral has been blowing around quite a lot too.
We went to the coast, Marseille and the islands, If, Pomègues...
Music is waiting because time in Summer does not allow much listening, thinking. Writing, even this type of easy writing, takes time.
The place for music I would like to be now is the
Albert Hall. It is easy to keep in touch through Eyes .
And while checking all I missed, I came across this long musical love poem.
Back to the Seas again.

This link gives the complete poem and music, Delius, W. Whitman and Bryn Terfel's deeply moving rendition.

  2. Yes...and we all know Welsh singers are the best! Thanks for stopping by! I love this part he has on his repertoire and it was so good to sing it at the Albert Hall. I have to plan to come again to London for the Proms like in the(good) old days. I am nearly through Les Troyens. BBC does an excellent job as (nearly) always!

    1. Some years ago I also experienced Les Troyens live at Bastille. I loved the entire cast, the orchetra and the conductor, Cambrelling. The setting was fine too. I also watched Anna Caterina Antonnacci sing 'Je vais mourir' in her excellent 'show' Altre Stelle (was it in 2010 at 'le Grand tthéâtre de Provence'?) so I know what she sounds like and the way she acts.
I loved that performance a lot. Is her Didon better than her Cassandre? I like her all along the line, singing Rossini, Berlioz, Bizet. She is smashing and rather untouched by the media hype.

( I have to mention the South of France for Les Troyens which will be the hit in July 2013 at Marseille Opera House with the unique French national tenor and other French singers...guess who? I might not be back from Shanghaï..... still, I will not shed tears.. he once was rather good and now he is unpredictable. In the summer, he always sings in a place where I now refuse to evn spend a penny)
My only live and staged Damnation de Faust was years ago in London, due to Sir Colin Davis 's love of Berlioz.
Have an energetic Olympic week-end dear Eyes!
