Radio gems... to ease the hours.

Some days are heavier to face than others. Some news can destroy my natural optimistic turn of mind in a wink of an eye. In a small place like the country town where I live sad news spread like fireballs. Is it acceptable to see a young General Practitioner who once came to help us with patience and wisdom at night, disappear so quickly ? is it acceptable to think that this young man who provided help and care to so many of us had a severe and fast devastating illness that could not be stopped in this brilliant XXIst Century? This page could be filled with my endless questioning against fate and also my angry thoughts against this overwhelming news. John Donne's Meditation XVIIth (.....)No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main; if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were; any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee. (.....) My best companion, particularly today, is my RADIO and sharing with some who can feel like me, for other reasons because there are so many reasons to feel low, at times. Here are some links for music and singing but at the back of my mind I can hear the stunning Rameau's aria 'Hippolyte n'est plus'. Totally unexpected after a year, following Mostly Opera and her captivating post on Rimsky Korsakov 's The legend on the invisible city of of Kitezh NTR Opera Live: DNO - Rimski-Korsakovs De legende van de onzichtbare stad Kitesj LINK to the radio Le comte Ory: four days left.LINK Joyce Di Donato's recital at Bozar: eight days left. 1. I don't wish to add to your low mood, Yvette, but the Comte Ory link does not seem to be working.
I'm sure your natural optimism will return shortly - here is a cyber-hug!
