For me it has always been a family holidaying place easy to reach by car in a couple of hours from Aix-en-Provence without any difficulties.
In 2012 we had a great time camping and hiking with the girls around Seyne-les-Alpes. We were based in a campsite in the village.
We walked in these beautiful mountainous sceneries which now lool like battlefields.
Going through my snapshots, it is hard to believe it is the same spot.
May it become a peaceful and soothing shelter for all the souls on board of that eery plane.
If I ever walk again in this area I will be sure to have her voice on my phone, precisely what was sent to me this morning by my Munich friend.
Katleen Ferrier, up to now, was the only one I cherished singing Mahler'sUrlicht
Maria Radner, so young with such a deep and rich voice is on my mind and heart, expressing this 'primordial light' for ever and for all the lost souls of this aircrash, her baby, the other baby, the sixteen youngsters, all of them, a loss of 150 people....
Will she be for ever cherished.
Mourning is never ending these days.
Thank you for this post, Yvette. It is such a tragic thing... and no less that it might have been intentional rather than accidental. :( I can't imagine what their families are going through.
