The Scottish Chamber Orchestra sextet at the top of the Cours Mirabeau, just in front of the Roi René statue. Gusts of strong wind were blowing the scores away under the bluest sky you can imagine!
They were serenading with Mozart, it was most enjoyable!(Serenade Mi bemol majeur K 375).
They gave us an encore (C. M Von Weber, short and vivid ending)
Among the listeners were some Scottish visitors who follow the Scottish Chamber Orchestra for this festival in Aix (they told me) and this is a real mark of love and faith!

Playing outdoors is filled with dangers and where would we be without clothes pegs??
ReplyDeleteOh! pegs, you managed to see them ! even so, the clarinet performer on the left being much exposed to the teriible draft had pages blown away and picked first by someone passing by and then perhaps the organiser who was standing at the back... but I think they enjoyed being there and welcomed by enthusiastic listeners ... not only from Scoltand. Perhaps you know them? The young man in the above photo, talking to us, loved speaking French, introducing the programme and 'le bis' en Français !
