It is a very warm day, good for siesta, then, to be in great shape for tonight open air concert !
At 9.45pm the free concert which celebrates the opening of Aix Festival , will be a rewarding musical moment in the cool night!
This opera chorus from Cape Town gave us a beautiful, nearly free concert at Silvacane last week.(June 17th)
The twelve singers were fantastic and moving espacially for me when they gave a stunning rendition of Notre Père, (African Gospel) spread in various spots in the great cistercian vault. The soprano was not far from me and I could feel the vibration of her fine voice and pure tops.
So tonight I am eager to listen to them again in a beautiful programme, under the stars. I hope the breeze will not develop into stronger Mistral...
Listening to 'Asimbonanga' will bring back memories of support to Nelson Mendela's struggles, talks from Desmond Toutou heard in London (1988 Hyde park 18 July
88) and children at school singing this song for la fête de fin d'année .. I will be moved for sure!
Is the Apartheid battle over?
I feel the battle is over, but the battle for equality is not.
