She looked Indian to me, with her shining golden sari, the light silky veils floating around her in the the wind!
At that time, this trailer of her last record on Mezzo captivated my imagination and each time it came on I stopped and stared at her just like the violonist behind her did, staring at her, and winking slightly at a friend in the orchestra to communicate his admiration at her singing!(at 4 minutes 18 seconds exactly) gosh ! the cello, her voice and her deeply moving crescendo!
I recorded this trailer and listened to it so many times during Summer 2007
What I did not know yet was that she is a well -known Kabyle soprano and does concerts where she sings traditional Kabyle songs and famous contemporary melodies written by singers like Idir
To celebrate a new-born babe, here is a wonderful aria 'Ay Al Xir Inu'
