( Marseille le Vieux Port -
Demonstration on january the 11th .we joined under the Teachers'Union banner. we were utterly appalled by Cedric Chouviat's death because of brutal French Police restraint techniques. Not even in May 68 we had to withness such violence from the police. Photo from my collection of moments)
Strange May Day !
No lilly- of the valley twigs in the streets, no demonstrations, except for thirty 'Gilets Jaunes' who gathered in front of the famous Doctor Raoult's Institute (Institut Hospitalo -Universitaire de Marseille).
Music and beloved singers fill this emptiness of this strange lock down life . I had a french tune on my mind all day : "Il est revenu le temps du Muguet le temps des amis retrouvés"
Thank you for that lovely clip - always loved Dima, Trebs not so much. Hope all is well in your corner of this strange universe and you and your family are staying health and safe. Big hugs from our Island.
ReplyDeleteMy thanks for your heartfelt thoughts dear Willym. Our corner of the world at the foot of le Luberon is sheltered from the huge virus wave of the cities near by like Marseille or Avignon. But because we are over seventies we keep out of the way so to speak! The daily counting of those who left us around this world is distressing. I keep reading you daily and it is a great company almost as if you were near by ! we all have to resist with body and soul to this awful desease and ,ust to hope for an inernational medical cure for it.Toutes mes affectueuses pensées par ces temps incertains.
