It is for me the best part of this recital, fascinating to hear the different renditions according to the quality of voice and the choice of emphasies chosen by Vesselina compared to Anna. They are both outstanding in "Why?..." They have chosen the same melodies, two very 'opera' like style where both singers gave overwhelming renditions. Of course Anna Netrebko heard and seen on stage has a better score...! Their duets as Romeo and Juliet are promising.

RACHMANINOV: Sing not to me, beautiful maiden, Op. 4 No. 4/ The Dream, Op. 8 No. 5/ Lilacs Op. 21 No. 5/ I have grown fond of sorrow, Op. 8 No. 4/ How Fair this Spot Op. 21 No. 7.
I feel like speading the news because this great Mezzo is not having a lot of publicity around here!

I only managed to see her twice in Paris, and had to travel to Zurich to enjoy her Carmen.
As today is big voting day here, this concert will take my mind away the issue...And spending this evening with Vesselina Kasarova is just like paradise...

  1. Ciao Yvette. :D I tuned in just in time for Von ewiger Liebe. Her voice sounds in such good shape! Would love it if she releases a Russian songs CD next with Charles Spencer. It's a really good match! :)

    2. Hi! Smorgy! I missed the very beginning because I did not have the connection from the concert page. I went on the radio site and quickly got connected. I found she sang same melodies A.Netrebko sang at Gaveau(Tchaïkovsky) then I stopped listening as it stopped and I did not hear the Rachmanonov ones. I loved listening to her, found her voice in good shape though I think she sounds much better live.

    4. My friends, for the vote issue I feel much better as I hate the sort of nauseous right we had. Big relief...

  4. Thanks a lot my friends. I listened carefully several times and loved the Tchaïkovsky of course. Interesting to compare two of them sung by Anna N. in Paris. It is going to be "hell" the two of them plus their singing passion and striking vocal rich qualities.
