Song for Mum: "l'éclat de rire"!

Can memory from early childhood work like a vibrant tape recorder? Mine does, only for what I heard, not from a concert singer but a busy Mum, either scrubbing or ironing or cooking and singing, always singing at one time of our life. This tune is hardly known though I know all the words...Renée Doria is part of this period in Marseille, as she started her artistic career in Marseille Opera House. All I need to do is to recall these 'tunes' and go to the youtube resource to find a treasure, a sweet photo and a dedicace, plus the voice... back to childhood and happy memories for a while. I am also puzzled to discover that some passionate lovers of opera singers and voices meet me so to speak in these memory trips on Youtube. Many thanks to PopoliDiTessalia

  1. I think for us music often acts like those madeleines of Proust... a snatch of melody and memories come flooding back - both glad and sad. And how fortunate are we that so much is there now on YouTube. Just today I found a delightful piece that brought back memories of a dear friend who no longer shares those musical moments with me.

Thank you again dear friend for sharing with us. Hugs from Ottawa
