"Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door"
(R.W. Emerson)
That is what is happening to the discrete Anja Harteros : Paris has now found the path after her Tosca and now her Madeleine de Coigny.
Salzburg on April 8th will discover her Sieglinde. I had the good luck to go to Berlin to catch her first act of Walküre : the success of that concert made it clear Sieglinde was hers.
In a recent interview in Paris she explained she did not have much time for rehearsals for Walküre because she was in Munich and Paris for Andrea Chenier, a new role too. That is why the same cast sang the first act in recital after some rehearsals, at the Philarmonie under D. Runnicles (Sept 7th).
I was there in Berlin
but did not mention it here. Now I am pleased to recall that concert where she was fantastic and had
such a good musical and human contact with her partners. I could feel some affectionate feeling from Peter Seiffert. I know they sang together in Zurich (Tannhaüser) because I made the trip for this event. There was also Vesselina Kasarova as Venus, unforgettable evening that was!
So, it is a chance to be able to listen to the live broadcast on the Austrian radio on the 8th!
