In my mail this morning: That made me feel happy, I love her when I listen to her CDs. But whenever I have seen her live it has always been fantastic. I do not really care about top notes being perfect or wether she has lowered down this or that,I think she does a fantastic work so far in dusting it all a bit.
I simply love her on stage. When these two are on the same billboard then it is just amazing.
That is why I went to two' Manon ' of that MacVicar's production in Barcelona.
And I will not try to see another Manon. Because that was too much !

ReplyDeleteOh so kind of you to post this message. I was indeed VERY FORTUNATE to see Natalie live at the MET in March last year in 'Lucia di Lammermoor'. I consider my self SO LUCKY!!
and you are so right.........THAT 'Manon' is the very best and although I only have the DVD, I can just imagine what Goosebumps to have been there to experience it live.
Nothing, but nothing can remotely compare.
Telling me you were'lucky' to be at her Lucia at the Met! Yes she was amazing in that Manon, which is a fine and adequate production,the settings (for once!) were so true to the text and time. Thank you for your patience reading me!
