The Discreet Diva : Heartful singing for the final Capriccio scene, last night at Opera Bastille.

Anja Harteros appeared in another pink long dress which makes her look almost like an angel, thin and tall,
She seems to flutter on stage and starts that amazing monologue with energy, not easy when the orchestra is there, and sounds at times quite hefty.
I cannot write long because I need the text to comment all her great vocal colourings on the words. She is really amazing and her voice last night was floating at tremendous height over the rocking waves of the orchestra.. I loved every minute of this musical event. Philippe Jordan is an enthusiast conductor and loves Strauss too.
Last night, there were signs of recording in the House so may be there will be a broadcast sometime somewhere. On all the opera free papers which can be picked at Bastille I read that Jordan and Harteros will be performing in Vienna on the 19th. I have no time tonight to check this piece of information, but it shows Anja Harteros is definitely going to sing this role again, and entirely.
Madeleine suits her immensely!
I'm off to cheer another Discreet Diva, the last belcantist, and this time in Italy... for "La fête de la Musique' at the San Carlo... will I survive all these huge emotions...
