Mimi.

No, no, not that one.
And last night on the 3rd channel there was a less than an hour tribute to Luciano Pavarotti,of very poor quality, insipid, so that is the power of images when chosen with lack of taste and thoughtfulness. The only sincere contributions came from Riccardo Muti, a flutist, close friend of his and Ruggero Raimondi.
Adventures with the three tenors, the cross over and his frienship with Lady Diana, all that is easy to recall, and it was so sad to hear the Opera critic speak when Luciano was singing 'ingemisco', not one aria could be listened to peacefully, only the rush of pictures and endless talks of this famous music journalist...
Mind you, at 12.10PM who cares about quality on French television?
This BBC tribute is a real one.(thank you Onegin85)

  1. When I saw MIMI, I thought of course about Anna Netrebko, but it was not that one! Nice. Thank you so much Yvette for that clip of Pavarotti. It is even more touching, because he is not there anymore. I was not such a fan of Pavarotti-last years, but I must admit young Pavarotti was great, no better than that he was one of the best. You are right, it is so irritating when the translation voice-over speaks continuously when the intervieuwee is singing or speaking, in Germany or Austria they do that also.
