Recollection

That you left on the 11TH of September four years after the one which became another landmark in the utterly inhuman history of humanity is another hasardous mystery of life.
Arrivals and departures are not mentioned on the unknown schedule of any life.
Your brithdays were always a family joke, as it was on the 8th of May.
You were not there for your departure, which is also imprinted in History.
You would have enjoyed that last detail of your life immensely, being a very nice entertainer, quietly funny as it is still the fashion in South of France, among Provençal people.
Thinking of you always brings back happy memories of time spent fishing from the white rocks, watching games of boules, running the steep flights of stairs to get better seats at the 'gods' the nights at the opera just because you were a true southerner and offerered it all to Mum and I , after the long flaw of the war.
So only Marcel Pagnol, his voice and intonation and films can retain what is like you, luckily !

  2. Thanks for reading me,anyway..Thanks for all your
nice comments. (I have been reading yours for quite a while before actually sort of joining in)
I really like 'les vieilles cires', so that fantastic old record brings back memories of family gathering ending with singsongs. This is all over now (just like the song...)I guess French is not a problem for you!
